Responsibilities
Join us as Functional Safety Manager where you'll play a crucial role in our organization. In this role, you'll define and enforce company-wide functional safety policies, ensuring that all departments comply with the latest standards. You are expected to approve safety work products and technical solutions, ensuring alignment with company strategy and customer expectations. As our Functional Safety Manager you will lead decisions on safety risks and mitigation plans, escalating critical issues to senior management when necessary. Internally you will collaborates with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and system architects. In the role you will also collaborate with external auditors and certification bodies.
Tasks will include:
- Ensuring the safety of automotive systems in compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant safety standards.
- Defining, analyzing, and implementing functional safety requirements at the system level to mitigate risks and improve vehicle safety.
- Performing safety analyses, such as Hazard and Risk Analysis (HARA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Establish and maintain functional safety governance within the company, ensuring that all teams follow standardized safety procedures.
- Coordinate with business leaders and technical teams to integrate safety requirements into project roadmaps and company strategies.
- Represent the company in safety audits, assessments, and customer negotiations, ensuring InfiMotion's credibility in functional safety.
- Perform and document functional safety analysis at the system and component levels.
We are looking for
Someone with a minimum of 10 years experience in safety-critical industries as a System or Safety Engineer and/or Manager. It is essential that you have worked with system design, safety protocols, and the application of safety standards within the automotive industry. We believe that you have a MSc within mechanical or electrical engineering, engineering physics or similar.
To succeed in the role you have documented expertise in Functional Safety Standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and others. You also have a solid foundation in safety engineering, including knowledge of hazard analysis techniques like FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and more.
As a person you are excellent with details and a real problem solver. In parallel you are a great relationship builder that listens in an build trust and can naturally take on a leadership role when needed. We take it for granted that you are self-motivated enough to take ownership and drive your area with proactiveness and successful completion.
Collaboration is key for us so you are a true team player with strong communication skills. You are fluent in English and if you have a knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, Swedish or German it is a plus.

Our Office;
The InfiMotion office is conveniently located within the Uni3 campus at Pumpgatan 1, on Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The office is easily accessible by car, bus, or the newly introduced ferry service.
For those driving, there are parking facilities available around Lindholmen. Please note that ongoing extensive roadworks are in progress to enhance future tram connections which may cause delays and inconvenience.
If you prefer public transport, simply get off at Pumpgatan or Regnbågsgatan when taking the bus. Alternatively, for ferry commuters, you'll get off at the Lundbystrand ferry terminal.
